* I think I bought every one of the comics pictured in this gallery of George Perez Marvel Two-in-One covers. That era was pretty much the sweet spot of my appreciation for Perez's level of detail and focus on storytelling.
* A Scene of the Crime deluxe hardcover is on the way in November. Very good news for Brubaker/Lark/Phillips fans. I wouldn't mind Brubaker and Phillips's Sleeper getting the HC treatment too. 25 or so issues would make a nice omnibus.
* Tony Isabella reviews The Amazing Spider-Man movie with glowing praise for the actress playing Gwen Stacy; Tony should know from Gwen Stacy, he wrote the excellent What If Gwen Stacy Had Lived? back in the day for Marvel, illustrated by the superb Gil Kane and available in the Gil Kane TPB collection Marvel assembled a few years ago. That one also included that great Avengers What If issue with Kane and Janson art, one of the best-looking and most dramatically drawn Marvel Comics ever published.
* Booksteve delivers up a Field Guide To The Wally Wood Artist's Edition, so you can know which printing is which. This will be helpful if you're looking to score a copy on eBay. I got my orange-covered copy back in April at Earthworld Comics in Albany, NY. Owner JC Glindmyer knew me well enough to know that if I saw it with my own eyes, it would be coming home with me. Somehow he seems to have known I'd just gotten my tax refund, too. He's a smart one.
* Uncomics: Probably not work-safe, but Christopher Allen highlights a funny (and hot) faux movie trailer that is just ten percent too ridiculous to be real. David Byrne makes shrimp tacos. Jaunty Sean T. Collins runs down his list of the top 100 albums from 1996-2011. I wish I liked and knew as much about music as Sean and Chris Allen.
