* At Trouble With Comics, Christopher Allen reads three recent Marvel comics that come up a bit wanting. Two of which I would have expected that from, the third I would have thought might not be bad, but apparently I was wrong. Chris also has some comments on the recent "Essential Batman" post at Rolling Stone by Sean T. Collins, rightly pointing out a couple of serious omissions from The Jaunty One's list.
* Nick Caputo finds some artwork in a 1960s Marvel comic book that he suspects is by an uncredited Barry Windsor-Smith. Well, he suspects it's by "Barry Smith," so he probably didn't get the memo about his name, you know, 30 years ago.
* Steven Thompson talks about his first underground comix. I think the first one I ever read was probably Cherry Poptart, which explains why I was so late immersing myself in underground comix.
* Newsarama runs down what they expect to see from the Marvel NOW! event/branding/whatever. I remain hopeful that Avengers comics won't suck for the first time in a decade.
* Tony Isabella looks at the Super-Obama issue of Grant Morrison's Action Comics. I wish Morrison's entire run on Action was as interesting.
* My Darwyn Cooke eBay auction has been REBOOTED! More stuff, cheaper. Have a look.
* Uncomics: Thanks to Graeme McMillan for his recent kind words on the return of Comic Book Galaxy. Like Graeme, I miss all the voices he talks about in that post, but none more than Dick Hyacinth. His sudden disappearance mystifies and troubles me to this day.
