In the first case, the work dictated my revulsion to Frank Miller's modern comics creating, and the crap he's crapped out since then justifies my decision. In the latter case, the clear, inarguable ethical failure of Before Watchmen's perpetrators make it impossible for me to continue to support their work, past, present or future.
