Galaxy Newsbrief 011814: Steve Bissette and Miracleman #1
* Flouting my complaints earlier in the week about how baffling it is to me that Miracleman #1 was released to no fanfare and apparently unspectacular reader interest, Steve Bissette digs deep on Marvel's Miracleman #1. He makes some great points about the original creators (well, those who are choosing to participate) finally seeing some tangible rewards for their work on one of the most acclaimed superhero comic book runs of all time, about the quality of Marvel's version, and especially about the implications for what Marvel should be doing across the board for the people who have made it possible for them to exist and thrive all these years, the creators of the comics they publish. I can always get behind a call to do the right thing, especially when the target is a corporate-owned comics company with a long history of misdeeds; Bissette's fair and well-balanced posting accomplishes that while at the same time finding good reason to celebrate this landmark comics work being back in print.
