Galaxy Newsbrief - January 2nd, 2013

* Today sees the release of Fatale #11 and the second trade paperback collection of the series by writer Ed Brubaker and artist Sean Phillips. Bubba at A Criminal Blog has details.

* Right now, Tom Spurgeon at The Comics Reporter has a ton of posts headlined "50 Comics Positives of 2012." I couldn't have come up with a list of five with a gun to my head, so I find these posts pretty damned impressive.

* Neilalien notes that 2013 (sorry, 02013) marks 50 years of Dr. Strange in print. The older I get, the more I suspect Dr. Strange may actually be Steve Ditko's greatest achievement in comics, other than that batshit crazy issue of Blue Beetle where the bad guy is art criticism. How great would it be if there was one colour hardcover that collected just the Ditko-drawn Dr. Strange issues? The fact that there isn't is just another way in which I don't understand comics and think the corporate-driven sector of the industry is actually pretty dumb a lot of the time.

* Uncomics: Hey, Chris Allen is back to reviewing Beatles songs.
